Nancy was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 3, 1939. She was an only child.
Nancy’s parent’s, Walter and Margaret Folsom and her Aunt Isabelle Crane passed away many years ago. After Nancy’s parents brought her to Arizona to live, she continued to live here until her death, only living in California for a few years.
Nancy married William T. Jones (who predeceased her) and began a family. They had three daughters. Debbie (Don Guzzo), Cheryl (Dan Main), and Vicki (Bubba Medrano). Cheryl and Dan had Daniel (Joni) Main, Michelle (Bryan) Shaw, and Jillian (Dave) Bautista. There are 10 great-grandchildren named in order of birth: Aja, Jake, John, Joy, Ethan, James, Jason, Lex, Kawika and Ryland. Vicki had Dane (Amanda), Allie (Nathan) and Landon (Gisell). (Roman who predeceased her). There are 7 great-grandchildren named in order of birth: Hailey, Randy, Ryann, Jordyn, Maddox, Charlie and Olivia.
Nancy began her professional life as a Docket Clerk with the Lewis and Rocca Law Firm, in 1972.
Nancy then married William H. Butler in 1974 (who predeceased her) and added his daughters, Barbara, Betty, Phyllis and son, Billy to our family. There were also grandchildren, Shan (Carolyn), Barry (Tiffany), Dana (Randy) and Bryan (Cari). There are 8 great-grandchildren named in order of birth: Brooke, Scott, Ben, Jake, Jacob, Noah, Derek and Caitlyn.
Nancy retired from Lewis and Rocca in 1991, as the Docket Analyst. She had moved the law firm calendar to a brand new computer system. This means that mom scheduled and kept track of all the court dates and hearings for the attorneys who she worked with at Lewis and Rocca. She met and married Harry Nichols in 1992 (who predeceased her) and added his adult children, Susie and Patrice, Shannon, Chris and Rick (Rebecca) to our family. Grandchildren were born named in birth order: Kelly (Brandi), Ryan, Ethan, Evan, Noah, Zachary, Zoe, Richard and Abigail. There are currently 4 great-grandchildren: Marci, Levi, Anaias and Aster.
Nancy and Harry were happily married 27 years. Their home was in Glendale, although they also had a home in Prescott, where they spent time during the summers and some holidays.
Mom enjoyed reading, sewing and making photo albums of her large family.
We had a small, private, family service and burial. This was held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at West Resthaven Funeral Home, Glendale, Arizona.
