Maria Blanco, age 82, passed away on December 2, 2019. She was born in Manor, Texas on June 11, 1937 to the late Ernesto and Rosa Blanco. Maria and husband Margarito Covarrubio moved to Phoenix in 1952. Together they had 7 children before his passing in 1976.
Maria was a Godly woman who was proud to serve the Lord. She loved to sing, read her bible, and speak to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren about the Lord. She also loved to watch the old western TV series like The Big Valley, The Virginian, Bonanza, The High Chaparral, and most of all she loved to watch Jimmy Swaggart.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ernesto and Rosa Blanco, her husband Margarito Covarrubio, her son Rickey Covarrubio, her daughter Margie Ruvalcaba, and her brothers Joe Blanco, Isias Blanco, Ernest Blanco Jr.
Maria is survived by her children Mary Garcia, Abel (Barbara) Covarrubio, Janie (Ray) Lopez, Sylvia Lochner, Isaac Covarrubio, and Alex Valdez, son-in-law Alfredo Ruvalcaba, 28 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, 55 great great-grandchildren, and her sisters Martha Molina, Helen Torres, Paula Silva, and Cesaria Gaglio.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing being held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6-9 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM the following day, Friday, December 13, 2019 also at West Resthaven Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
