At a young age her family moved to a farm near Imlay City, Michigan. Lillian attended a one room country school through eighth grade. Later she was able to attend the Ontario Mennonite Bible School, graduating in 1939.
Lillian was a seamstress and made custom clothing, including wedding dresses as well as alterations. After moving to Phoenix in 1961, she was employed by JC Penney’s for 18 years and then self employed for many years, even after moving to Glencroft Senior Living in Glendale, AZ. She enjoyed hosting and preparing meals for guests. For many years she hosted a small group of ladies every Sunday afternoon to play Rummikub, her favorite game.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Milton (Irene)(Alda) Gascho, Salena Gascho, Edna (Joe Good) (Henry) Hershberger, Simon (Elva) Gascho, Louella (Henry) Mullet, Leona (Floyd) Plank and Eldon Gascho. She is survived by 16 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held March 13, 2020 at 3:30 pm at the Glencroft Senior Living Auditorium. Memorial contributions in memory of Lillian may be given to Friendship Foundation - Benevolent Fund, Glencroft Senior Living, 8611 N 67th Ave, Glendale AZ 85302.
