Morgan, Kenneth LeMoine Sr., 85 of Glendale, Arizona passed away December 3, 2014. Ken was born December 29, 1928 in Durango, Colorado. He moved to Arizona and attended Creighton Elementary School, Phoenix High School, Phoenix College, Arizona State University and Graduated from University of Arizona with a degree in Pharmacy. He worked at Solano Pharmacy on 7th Avenue and Bethany for many years. In 1969 he opened Ken’s Pharmacy at 5625 W. Glendale Avenue in Glendale and operated as an Independent Pharmacist for 26 years.
Ken loved visiting with his friends and customers around the soda fountain he had in his Pharmacy. He was a member of the Glendale Rotary Club. He was an avid gardener and member of the Rose Society of Glendale. He loved camping by Big Lake with his family and beach trips to Rocky Point. He could fix anything and was a creative woodworker. Ken was active in the community in activities such as the Glendale Downtown Redevelopment Committee, PTA President Solano School, Osborn School District Board member for 12 years, Eagle Scout Board of Review, Assistant Scoutmaster Troop 134, President of the Little League, YMCA fund raiser for new pool and facility on Missouri Road. He built the first snow cone stand at Solano School and raised money to put up the permanent lights for night ball games as well as the fence for the baseball diamond. He never stopped giving his very best to the community and his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife LoveVeta, who worked side by side with him at Ken’s Pharmacy. He is survived by his son Kenneth Jr. (Berri); his daughter Debra (Robert) Lytle; his brother Stanley (Doris) Morgan; his sisters Joy (William) Dickson, and Joan; his grandchildren Brett and Peter Morgan, Rachel and Colin Lytle, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services were held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday December 17, 2014 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary.
