Joan Marie Robbins Mosco was born on March 5, 1932 in Tampa, Florida and passed away on Wednesday, April 25 at 10:30 P.M. in Phoenix, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Alice Robbins, her son Richard Anthony Mosco, Jr., her eldest daughter Susan Mosco Royal, her sister Betty Robbins Dietrich and her husband Col. Richard Anthony Mosco. She is survived by her daughters Sally Frederick, Sandra Graybill and Sharon Arend, son-in-law Patrick Arend, her 6 grandsons: Stephen Royal, Richard Graybill, Michael Frederick, Jordan Royal, Jake Arend, and Heath Arend, her granddaughters Julie Lewis and Jackie Graybill, her great-grandchildren: Maddie, Jocelyn, Liam and Jimmy, her brother-in-law Jack Dietrich, nieces Beth Conner and Jan Smith, and nephew Greg Dietrich. She was an Army Officer’s wife for 32 years living on many posts, including Frankfurt, Germany, the Presidio in San Francisco, Fort Shafter, Hawaii and Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Joan was a graduate of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida and Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and taught elementary school for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Joan was a proud Southern belle who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9 at 9:30 at Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale, Arizona. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 with a 12:30 committal service at the Veterans National Cemetery in Phoenix.
