

James "Jim" Ray Swartz 74, of Glendale, Arizona passed away suddenly of natural causes on April 17, 2013 at home. Jim was born near Washington, IN on October 7,1938. He graduated from Glendale High School in 1956 and earned a Bachelors of Business at Arizona State University in 1960. He worked for and owned Swartz Construction Co. in Glendale since graduating from ASU. A dedicated family man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and wood working. Jim was a lifelong member of the Circle of Peace Church of the Brethren. Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wilda, daughters Mary Fritz (Mark) and Jan Spresser (David), grandchildren Katherine Rose, Timothy Cole and Anna Grace, brothers Paul (Mary Jo) and Harold (Jane), and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Katherine. Visitation on Monday, April 22, 5 PM to 8 PM Chapel of the Chimes 7924 N 59th Ave Glendale. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 10 AM Circle of Peace, Church of the Brethren 8430 W Deer Valley Rd in Peoria. Reverend Jim Merrifield officiating. Burial following the funeral at West Rest Haven Cemetery, 6450 West Northern Ave Glendale. Arrangements by Chapel of the Chimes 7924 N 59th Ave Glendale.
