After graduating high school, she married William Smith (Bill) and began raising a family. Fran and Bill moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1962 in search of sunshine and fresh air, and to be closer to her family members that were living there.
After raising four children, Frances renewed her love of nursing, completed training, and became a Registered nurse. She worked for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Arizona. After retiring, Fran and Bill served as National Forest campground hosts for several summers in Williams, Arizona before moving to Wittmann Arizona, where they stayed busy helping at the Brown Bag food pantry.
Frances is survived by her brother John Kaminsky (Bonnie) children Lenny (Mary Anne) Larry (Cathy) Sharon Haymond (Cleve), Kenny (Janet) , five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
