Clinton Everette “Ev” Dixon, 80, of Phoenix Arizona entered into heaven on July 25, 2020. Ev was born in Meigs County, Ohio on September 20, 1939 to Dorothy (Haning) and Harley E. Dixon along with his twin sister Dorothy Mae Dixon Bradley.
Ev, with his sister, grew up in Gnadenhutten, Ohio going to school and graduating from Gnadenhutten High School. After graduation, Ev moved to Akron to take a position with National Rubber Machinery. This is where Ev met Judy, the love of his life. After a short engagement, Ev and Judy eloped and were married on May 5, 1961, in Winchester, Virginia. They returned home to Akron to start their family. Together they raised three wonderful men, Michael, Scott and Chris.
In 1968, Ev brought his family to Phoenix, Arizona. After 25 years of experience working at various print shops, he, along with a friend, started an adventure and opened their own print shop, America West Graphics, in Scottsdale. They owned and operated their business for more than 14 years until Ev retired.
Ev’s primary passion, hobby and love was gold mining and prospecting. He and Judy loved it so much that they planned camping trips and outings around their hobby, and even bought their own gold mining claim in Bumble Bee, Arizona. They were also very involved with The Arizona Prospectors Association, where Ev served on the board and where Judy still serves as the secretary. This is how they met many longtime friends. Ev also enjoyed watching baseball, football and basketball on TV, but only if they were Arizona teams.
Ev leaves behind his only true love of 59 years Judith Florine Duer Dixon; sons Michael (Joy), Scott (Felicia) and Chris (Monica) Dixon; twelve grandchildren Austin, Megan (Travis), Tyler (Apple), Brittany (Corey), Eli, Joshua, Courtney, Rachel, Sarah, Justin, Rebecca, and Grace; six great grandchildren Abigail, Twin boys Aaron and Ian, Ryder, Kennedy and Emma; and his twin sister Dorothy.
Ev is preceded by his parents Harley and Dorothy.
