Ernesto A. Guzmán

Ernesto Acosta Guzmán, age 77, of Phoenix, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 in Sun City West, Arizona. He was born on July 29, 1944 to the late José and Hilaria (Acosta) Guzmán in Doña Ana County, New Mexico. Ernesto worked in the auto upholstery industry for most of his life and later as a custodian for Scottsdale Community College.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a proud member of the Intruders Car Club and enjoyed attending car shows and showing his beloved classic cars; a ’59 Chevy Impala and ’48 Chevy Fleetmaster.

Ernesto is survived by his 3 children: Ernest Guzmán Jr. ( Mary), Rebecca Goldshot, Amanda Webb (Dustin) ; siblings: Frederico Guzmán, José Guzmán, Ruben Guzmán (Alice), Enrique Guzmán (Mary), Toribia Sosa (Robert), Florence Monarrez (Johnny) , Alfred Guzmán (Catherine) , Frank Guzmán (Virginia), Hilaria Clark and Rosalinda Arrieta. He leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie (Arvizu) Guzmán; brother Reymundo Guzmán; son-in-law Rob Goldshot; sister-in-law Estella (Guerrero) Guzmán; sister-in-law Soledad (Montano) Guzmán; brother-in-law Frank Arrieta; and great granddaughter Jordyn Robles.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, Arizona. The Visitation begins at 10:30am with a Memorial Service at 12pm. Graveside service will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery 6450 W. Northern Ave Glendale, Arizona at 2pm.
