Friend, partner, composer, brother, pianist, conductor, uncle, Papa, Unkie D, antiques and art lover, florist, these are just a few of the words that describe David Allen Fox. Born May 5, 1939 to Rose (Levine) and Lewis Fox in Boston, MA. David loved life, people, good wine and food and had a thirst for knowledge. The last several years his brain suffered the ravages of Frontotemporal Dementia until his body succumbed to COVID 19 on June 25, 2020.
David was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and enjoyed many summers studying conducting at Tanglewood. He served in the US Army and spent most of his professional career as a florist owning his own business.
David is survived by many that he loved and who loved him deeply; Kenna Hough his partner of over 33 years; stepson Jason Cooper and his wife Nalda; three grandchildren, Jason, Luiza and Benjamin; his sister Carol Borrow and her husband Joe; brother in law Bruce Hough and his wife Linda; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Also included in his loved ones are his life-long best friends, Howard Rothstein and Terry McCutcheon.
David’s family would like to thank all the caregivers, who over the last two years took such good care of him.
Services will be private. To celebrate David, the family suggests you fix yourself a Margarita or pour a good glass of wine, put on your favorite music, and remember him fondly. If you wish to honor David’s memory further the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley www.hov.org/donate funds will be used to assist dementia education efforts and programs.
