Cheryl was born in Charlottsville, West Virginia on June 16, 1947. She was 1 of 5 children born to Sebastian Earl Julian and Bonita Larue Cox. She was married to Franciso “Frank” Moreno on April 10th, 1993, in San Diego California.
She enjoyed water skiing and camping in the desert with her family and friends. She started her career as a drafter with Vu Data and eventually retired from General Dynamics. She then became an entrepreneur and bought and managed Falcon’s Lure for 10 years in La Mesa California. She moved to Glendale Arizona in 2004 with her late husband Frank and became very active with the American Legion Auxiliary post 29 in Glendale Arizona, where she was the secretary of the post for 5 years. Cheryl enjoyed doing puzzles and loved to crochet. She had a special talent for making doilies and crocheting dresses for barbie dolls.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Lynna Ricotta, Shera (John) Ainsley, Iven Hollingshead, and Deena Hollingshead. She had 7 grandchildren, Russell Ricotta, Adam Ainsley, Kristie Ricotta, Jessica Duff-Ainsley, Sean Ainsley, David Frank, and Gage Brown, and 5 great- grandchildren. She is survived by her 3 siblings, Donald (Leslie) Julian, Shelley Julian, and Robin Julian - Dubiel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Karen Williams and grandson David Frank.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her kind nature, big heart and love for her children and family.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. At the VA National Cemetery of Arizona, located on 23029 North Cave Creek Road Phoenix, AZ 85024.
