Cheryl was born July 11, 1956 at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ to Charles and Olga (Waddell) Clark. Cheryl is survived by her son, James Arollo (Andrea Rodela) and grandson, Mateo. Sisters Jane (Johnny) Burson and Kimberly (Gilbert) Tapia. Nieces and Nephews: Stephanie (Chris) Gonzales; Jason (Joey) Tapia; Gina Tapia; and Jaclyn Burson. Great Nieces and Great Nephews: Liliana, Alyssa, and Ava Gonzales; Deziray Wheeler and Maddisyn Tapia; Kylee, Dominick, and Casey Tapia; and Rebecca Burson Gillespie. She is also survived by many from the Waddell and Clark families.
Cheryl was a loving and wonderful daughter, sister, mother, aunt, nina, sister-in-law, cousin, niece, and friend.
She worked at AZ DPS for 20 years. She earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Early Education from Arizona State University. Cheryl then taught in early education and ESL for 20 years.
Cheryl was an avid ASU football fan and loved attending games and tailgating with her family and friends. She was the cheer team coach at Bourgade Catholic High School for a number of years during the time her son and nieces attended.
Cheryl was the family tamale, menudo, and blender salsa queen, inheriting her skills from her parents. For the last 3 years, Cheryl’s life and happiness came from being able to watch her grandson, Mateo. Seeing Mateo grow and learn was her joy.
Cheryl loved and cared for each and every family member and friend, and she was all of our confidante. She was loved by everyone that knew her and she will be missed immensely.
