

Surrounded by his family, Charlie Doyle Scott, 91 of Glendale, Arizona, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, May 22, 2022. He was born April 26, 1931 in Alford, Florida to the late Charlie and Della Scott.
He met his wife of 68 years, Jean, at night school in San Diego and married June 4, 1954.
Charlie proudly served in the US Navy from 1947 to 1951, at which time he served with the flight deck crew on board the USS Essex.
After being honorably discharged, he was employed at an aircraft plant in San Diego, until he felt led to receive more Christian training. In 1959 he and his family moved to Phoenix where he attended Grand Canyon University. Finally, in 1964, he decided to start his own printing company in his garage. Minute Man Printers was a thriving family business for over 55 years and serviced such companies as America West Airlines, Continental Homes, Courtland Homes, Arizona Oncology and Associated Retina.
Gold panning, fishing and playing his guitar were some of the activities he enjoyed, but his greatest love was raising and racing pigeons, which he did the better part of 40 years.
He has been a member of Love Baptist Church for 63 years and has served as one of their Deacons for 57. In addition to traveling on mission trips to Korea, Argentina and Switzerland, he played handbells and taught Adult Sunday School.
He is survived by his wife, Jean, children Harvey (Deborah), Doyle (Debra), grandchildren Paul, Sonya, Shaun, Leann, Jeff, Jeremy, and Mike, great grandchildren Alexandria, Jackson and Nathan, and one brother Elliott.
In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by another brother, Winston.
