Ann Beverly Aycock was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 29,1934 to Homer Robert Owens and Amy Jane Sadler. She grew up in Phoenix with her brothers Sonny, John, Frank and her sister Jane.
Ann grew up as a dedicated scholar, studying to become a teacher. She received an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science Degree from Grand Canyon University and received her Masters’ degree from Arizona State University in 1970 followed by another in 1980 from Nova University.
While attending college, Ann became a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority which was a major part of her life for 70 years.
This is when she also met her “would be” husband, Gene Aycock. They met while Ann was working on her car, and that was the beginning of a long road to happiness that bore two sons, Brian and Ward.
Ann spent her career as a teacher and librarian while raising her family. She spent 8 years with the Alhambra School District and 29 years in the Paradise Valley District prior to her retirement.
Ann was a devoted wife that spent more than fifty years with Gene, raising their family together in Phoenix. She was an active member of her sorority from college until her passing on November 5, 2023.
Ann is survived by her children, Brian (Sandy), Ward (Kimarie), and grandchildren Brandon, Kyle, Alexis, and Shane and her siblings Frank and Jane, in-laws, and extended family and friends.
She will be remembered for her wit, intelligence, love of animals (especially cats), and her love of family and friends.
