Arthur B. "Bo" Davies II, 81, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday (April 24, 2012). He was the loving husband and best friend of Lynn (Arbeider) Davies for 59 years. He was born and raised in Congers, NY, son of the late Arthur D. and Mildred I. (Dunbar) Davies. After graduating Congers High School, he went on to attend Cornell University. In 1952, he married Lynn and started their lives together working the family apple farm, continuing in the family tradition. After a damaging hurricane and hail storm, that ravaged their farm, they moved to Connecticut. Bo attended Hartford University and received his degree in Civil Engineering. After many years of owning his own land surveying business, he worked for the Town of South Windsor as the Deputy Engineer. He retired in 1996. During this time he also worked and managed along with his wife, Orchard Hill Farm in South Windsor, a hobby they both enjoyed. He was a member of the 3rd Regiment Nayaug Fife and Drum Corp. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Virginia Elliott and her husband Dan of Virginia, Michael Davies of Glastonbury and Holly Glazewski and her husband David of Portland; one sister Margaret Marder of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Scott, Christopher, Kelly, Lauren, Arthur, Heather and Alexis; and one great granddaughter, Meri.
Visiting hours will be Saturday, 5:30-7 p.m. on April 28 at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury. His memorial service at the funeral home will take place at 7 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation.
