Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Florence Lenart, his first wife Valerie Delores Lenart and his second wife Carolyn Jane Lenart. He is survived by his son, Keith Robert Lenart, his granddaughter Valerie Ann Lenart, and three younger siblings Leroy, Linda, and Laura.
Wayne was born on April 1, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. He had a Bachelor of Science degree in Transportation Management and worked in the industry of freight shipping/logistics for most of his career. He relocated for work from Chicago to Wichita, Kansas, then Abilene, Texas and finally Shreveport, Louisiana where he eventually retired. His son moved him to Kansas City, Missouri in 2017.
Wayne had a passion for sports and was a loyal fan of the Chicago teams he grew up with, most notably the Chicago White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks and the Arizona Cardinals (originally the Chicago Cardinals). He enjoyed golfing and bowling and after retirement spent several consecutive summers traveling around the country for months at a time by automobile. His trips were very spontaneous with only a basic itinerary as Wayne loved to improvise and change plans on a whim. He had a quirky, playful sense of humor and loved children.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no visitation or memorial services are scheduled at this time.
