Stephen was born October 12, 1948 to Verbon and Vida Roberts in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After graduating from Shawnee High School, Stephen joined the US Army and served proudly until his discharge in 1971. He worked as a contractor for the US Government as a Computer Programmer. When he moved to Kansas City in 2000 he joined the DST Team and met Michelle in 2001, finally getting married in 2017.
Zippy loved to escape to the cabin that he spent over 5 years remodeling with William, at the Lake of the Ozarks, while their he would take advantage of fishing, boating, reckless burning, and spending time with good friends. He was a sports nut and loved to watch curling, the Dallas Cowboys, OU Sooners, Maryland Terrapins, and various other college athletics.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Charlotte Ivey.
Survivors include his wife of 4 1/2 years, Michelle; his sister, Dorothy; his daughters, Cydney and Stephanie; his son, Michael; his step-sons, Robert and Chuck (Amanda); his step-daughter, Christina (Kevin); 14 grandchildren; 1 great grand-son and a great grand-daughter on the way.
