He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Sondra and Richard Timmerman. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1985. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as military police and game warden, stationed in White Sands, New Mexico. While in the Army, he achieved the rank of Sargent.
Russ and Terri (Theresa) were married on February 7, 1991 at the post chapel on White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.
In 1992, he was accepted into the Nebraska State Patrol, and was stationed in Mullen, Nebraska. He became a airwing pilot for the State Patrol in 1995. Then in 2001 he was accepted into the Federal Aviation Administration as a safety inspector. This was his occupation for the last 20 years.
Russ and Terri had two beautiful daughters, Rebecca (1997) and Jessica (2001). Russ was a jack of all trades and taught his daughters many valuable lessons. His daughters remember him as a patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
He was a stubborn smart ass who loved his family and animals. He was passionate about airplanes and cooking.
He is preceded in death by his mother Sondra and step father Jerry Dewitt and numerous aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Russ is survived by his wife Terri (MO), daughter Rebecca and son in law Brandon Marks (MO), daughter Jessica Timmerman (MO), father Richard and his wife Beth Timmerman (NE), brother Ryan and his wife Missy Timmerman (NE), brother Rick Timmerman (NE), brother Mark and his wife Dooh Ah Yoon Dewitt (Korea), sister Kimberly Dewitt Baker (LA), sister Jeanne and her husband Bruce Maschmeier (TX), brother David Dewitt (CA) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Russ will be help from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm with a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 pm on December 2, 2021. Immediately following the service, all are invited to attend a reception with food and beverage with the family, all held at White Chapel Funeral Home 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may send memorials in Russ's honor by check payable to Theresa Timmerman mailed to White Chapel at 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119.
The family would like to thank Liberty Hospital ICU staff for their dedication and care while Russ was with them.
