Robert Carl Fry

ROBERT C. FRY Bob, 88, of Independence, MO passed away on Monday Nov. 6, 2017 surrounded by family. Bob was born on July 31, 1929 in KC, MO to Charles and Ruth Fry. He was a graduate of William Chrisman High School and served with the Seebees in the US Navy. In 1950 Bob married Monetta and he built their first home in Independence. Bob retired from Burns & McDonnell Engineering after 49 years of service. He was an active member of St. Luke’s UCC. Bob will be fondly remembered as a builder of everything. What brought him great joy was having all the family gather at the pool in Independence and at the lake house in the Ozarks. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Monetta; his parents; brothers, Chuck (Eileen) and Ralph Fry; sister, Rosemary Draheim; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Fry. Survivors include his children, Bruce (Tina) Fry and Lenora (Ken) Remmert; 3 brothers, Ed, John (Joan), and Jim Fry; brother-in-law, Walt Draheim; 3 grandchildren; Tim (Tori) Fry, Nathan (Ashley) Remmert, and Angie (Glenn) Sellars; 5 ½ great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Monday Nov. 13, 2017 at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ (727 N Main St Independence, MO 64050). The family will receive friends from 9-11 AM Monday at the Church. Burial following service at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke’s UCC. (Arr. White Chapel, 816-452-8419)
