Marjorie grew up in Richards where she played high school basketball. She moved to Kansas City with her then husband, Robert Carlton in 1950 to raise her 3 children and were members of Hillside Christian Church. Marjorie remarried and worked alongside her second husband, Carroll, running The Gold Buffet for nearly 30 years.
Marjorie was a loved mother, grandmother, and friend. With a zest for life that was often times unmatched, she was always dancing to a country music song with a glass of champagne in her hand. From the restaurant business to her own kitchen Marjorie loved hosting gatherings with her family and many friends. She had a passion for style and was known for her glitz and glamour that was always Las Vegas ready.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, Randy Carlton; her husband, Carroll Meyer; and 6 siblings.
Survivors include daughters, Jane O’Shea of Austin and Linda Chrane (Bob) of Kansas City; grandson, Rex West (Genevieve) of Dallas; granddaughter, Kristi Ferrara (Charles); and her great granddaughters that were the light of her life, Paige Reed (Riley), Kaitlyn Ferrara, and Lily Ferrara all of Kansas City.
A graveside Celebration of Life and Champagne toast will be held at White Chapel Cemetery on Friday, March 26th at 2:00 PM.
