Her impact came in all shapes and sizes and in so many varied ways. She left an imprint on her community through years of Community Development through Yarco; helping write grants to fund senior housing developments, rebuild communities and relations in low income communities, and helped build up a better future for youths through non-for-profits such as Phoenix Family. Her legacy was not found in the projects though, but in the people. She was courageous in her support and encouragement of others. She was strong in her dedication to bring about the greatest amount of change in peoples lives. She had a heart that held you in a field of true knowing, acceptance, and compassion. Her legacy is seen in the people who live on and are stronger because she believed in them, because she loved them, because she lived.
Nature was her sanctuary, and if she wasn’t in a garden planting, pruning and picking weeds, she was floating in the pool. Her soul came alive when her hands were in the dirt, and to this day, her hands are the gift in which she not only served the world, but connected deeply to its divines. Her passion for turquoise, bead work, and the sacred heritage of Native American art, was truly a wonder to be hold. To this day I think she has enough of all of it to open a small museum. And anyone who truly knows her, knows that her collection was merely a reflection of the beauty within her soul.
She lives on in the hearts of her life partner Russ Orth, her daughter Codie Schumann and soon to be son-in-law Mike Pearce, her step daughters Andria Orth and Arionna Spletstoser, her Step Sons Russ Orth Jr & daughter-in-law Becca Losiewicz and Ryan Orth & daughter-in-law Savanah Orth, her Mother Donnabelle Potter, and her siblings Patti Schumann, Betty Noel, and David Schumann, her nieces and nephew Cole Adams, Hana Adams and Kayla Campbell, as well as many wonderful grandkids. She also lives on in the lives of friends and family, through the advice and love, the support and stories, the laughter and teachings, and all the gifts found in her deep soul felt hugs. Her legacy will be felt for generations, in the little moments, quietly passed down. And though she may not be with us physically, she will always truly be a part of us and this world. May her soul find its journey home.
