Floyd Stephen “Steve” Wilson, 75, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Monday April 3, 2023 at his home. Steve was born on November 13, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Donald R. and Gertrude M. (Hoerath) Wilson.
Steve attended Northeast High School and graduated with the Class of 1965; then attending the University of Missouri obtaining a Bachelor of Building Materials Management with the Class of 1969. He was a very proud member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Agriculture Fraternity.
Steve married Marsha Pope on December 27, 1969 in North Kansas City, Missouri and together they traveled to Madison, Wisconsin before making Kansas City their home.
Steve served proudly during the Vietnam Conflict; in the United States Army from 1969 until his Honorable Discharge in 1971; earning numerous metals including the Bronze Star.
Steve retired from Hallmark Cards Inc. after 32 years working in a number of capacities.
He loved his family, animals and wildlife, being in the outdoors, sitting and visiting with others which usually turned into a lengthy conversation. He enjoyed visits with the grandchildren where he could watch movies with them. Steve had a great passion for old time rock-n-roll and would listen to the greats while tinkering in the garage, loud enough for the neighbors to hear.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marsha; his son, Brian S. Wilson; his daughter, Emily E. (Ryan) Wells; his brother, John R. (Jaci) Wilson; and four grandchildren, Brennan Wilson, Layla Wilson, Rylie Wells, and Emery Wells.
