Donna Kay Swanson

Kay was born to Kermit and Tressa (McCroskey) Bumgarner of Strafford, MO on July 12, 1933. The eldest of 3 girls, Kay graduated from Strafford high school in 1951. Kay moved to Kansas City shortly after graduating high school and started working for TWA.

While working for TWA, Kay met and married William Swanson in 1956. After she married Bill, they had two daughters (Susan and Linda). Kay devoted her life to her children, maintaining the home and supporting Bill as he worked for Butler Manufacturing Company in Kansas City. Kay was an active member of the Avondale United Methodist church. She sang in the choir for many years and helped support the church in in all the ways she could.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her oldest daughter Susan Hass, her sister Sue Steury and her parents. Kay is survived by her daughter Linda, her spouse John, her sister Patsy , 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Avondale United Methodist Church with the funeral service following at 11am.
