Donald F. Kinzle

Donald proudly served his country during World War II as a Private First Class in the 25th Infantry Division of the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. His service to his country shaped much of his character, as he carried the values of duty and honor throughout his life.

In 1947, he married the love of his life, Martha Louise Lindsay. Together, they raised three children: Rebecca "Becky" Jane Bales (deceased), Peggy Jean Welch (deceased), and Donald Richard Kinzle.

Don spent most of his career as a mechanic and body and fender man at Ketcham Oldsmobile, where he worked from 1949 until his retirement in 1985. Outside of his work, Don found joy in several hobbies, including gardening and tending to his beloved flowers, photography, and woodworking.

He was a dedicated member of Hope Fellowship Baptist Church, where his faith in Christ was an anchor throughout his life.

Don’s greatest pride and joy came from his family. He is survived by his son, Donald Richard Kinzle, along with his eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Evelyn Cypret.

He lived most of his life on "the hill" in Kansas City North, where he spent his days working in his flower gardens or riding his tractor, tending to his 3-acre property. After his wife’s passing, Don continued to live independently for 10 more years, a testament to his strength and resilience.

Don's life was a beautiful blend of service, hard work, and devotion to family and faith. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a humble, kind, and loving man.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to North Kansas City Hospice in Donald’s honor.

Donald will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and faith will live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
