He was born March 24, 1947 in North Kansas City, Missouri to Clayton and Geraldine Panter. A 1965 graduate of North Kansas City High School, David then enlisted and served proudly in the United States Air Force at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, Missouri. David earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern Missouri State University. David and his father subsequently purchased and ran Hickman Mills Auto Supply and opened Parkville Auto Parts. His next business venture he started out of the trunk of his car. He developed Colour Master Inc. in Olathe, Kansas and expanded those services to include auto body repair.
David met the love of his life, Amy in 1993 and was subsequently married in 1995. Their very first date was a Chief’s game, which would set The Adventurous tone of their entire relationship. Their yearly Traditions included attending the Indy 500 multiple years in a row, camping, and in 2001 becoming Avid certified SCUBA divers. In 2015, they decided on the Ultimate Adventure and moved to Ambergris Caye, Belize.
David was a member of the San Pedro Roman Catholic Church. David and Amy were happily married for 24 years.
David was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Toni Burst.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Panter and brother, Jon Panter.
