Daniel Stephen Peak

Daniel Stephen Peak Esquire, born February 9th, 1950 in Girard, Kansas to Francis T. and Nanette (Walsh) Peak. Moving to the Gladstone area as a young child, Dan graduated from Oak Park High School (class of '68). In 1969 he joined the United States Army where he was deployed to Vietnam, serving two tours as an air traffic controller. Following his discharge, Dan worked several jobs, including building the new Kansas City International Airport. Working his way through college, he earned a BS from the University of Missouri and then a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri at Kansas City (class of '83). During this time Dan met and married Carolyn (Weakley), the sister of a longtime friend. Following graduation, the couple welcomed two children, Allison Ray and Christopher Stephen.

Dan started his career with the commercial real-estate developer, John Brown and Co. (Riverside, MO); working as both in-house counsel as well as managing developments for over a decade before moving on to start an independent consulting business. He has been actively involved in organizations such as the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and No-Names. A member of the church, Dan also volunteered and had valued friendships at North Pointe Church and Northland Cathedral.

He will be remembered fondly for his sound advice, witty sense of humor, generous spirit, and dedication to his family. Dan is preceded in death by his parents (Frank and Nanette), stepmother (Velma Peak), niece (Shelly Lapin) and nephew-in-law (Jim Allen). He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn, daughter Allison and son-in-law Noah Scott, son Christopher and daughter-in-law Ellen (Jacobson); two grandchildren, Lily and Nathaniel Scott; siblings, Frank Peak and wife Renee, John Peak and wife Bonita, Nancy (Peak) Dilley and husband Dave, Albert Davies, John Davies and wife Annette; as well as by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

A visitation is to be held at 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, September 26th, 2022, followed by a Memorial Service at 12 o’clock p.m. at Northland Cathedral Assembly of God Church, 101 NW 99th St., Kansas City, MO 64155.
