Christine is a huge role model for me. We met when I joined the 6th grade center team and I immediately knew we would get along. She really was the embodiment of love. Patient, kind, humble, and cared about people in a palpable way. She was such a phenomenal teacher—watching her interact with her classes, I saw that she really  made her students feel safe and seen, and like it’s okay to make mistakes, you can still create something beautiful with that. I loved talking with her about work and about life, I felt like I learned so much from her. I’m so grateful to have known her. My heart goes out to her family— Christine really lit up when she talked about you both, she was so proud of August. I hope that her love stays with you forever 🖤🖤 

Christine Baker always made me feel so happy and welcome to be a student in her classroom. I will always remember her happy smile she wore every day, and wonderful personality. She made me feel comfortable with my art, something I always had a problem with and express myself in a time that I did not know how to do that, and something she made me comfortable to do from then on. I will forever be thankful for the positive influence that she had on me as a person and artist. 

Christine and Nathan were my neighbor when August was born. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, she was always a delightful person to be around!  Thoughts and prayers to all.

There are no words to express the sorrow of losing such a kind, generous spirit and true friend.  Christine was an inspiration to everyone that knew her.  My favorite memory is of our shared studio sessions and long talks over coffee.  I am thankful for the gift of her friendship over the last 15 years.  My heart goes out to her family.  

Christine and I began working at NKC schools together in 2007 at Maple Park. Her kindness, joy and compassion brightened every single day.  That glow magnified expotentially when August was born! Sending prayers and lots of healing thoughts to him and Nathan during this sad time. The good news is love never dies and Christine was the epitome of love. She will be dearly missed by many.

Christine always radiated kindness and warmness whenever our paths crossed at Art Meetings.  She was so friendly and inviting.  She wanted to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted.  I wish her family the very best.

When I first was hired at NKC in the Art department, Christine was one of the only one's that saw me for me and treated me as a person. She was always kind and pleasant and willing to share her knowledge. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Christine was always in a great mood. She was a joy to be around, thoughtful and kind. She treated my kids with patience and love, as she did everyone. Always aware of my son's needs and she helped my daughter create a few masterpieces in her studio. I will miss her.

My daughter, Owyn, always appreciated Christine's praise and support of her art. 

Christine and I first met at a coffee shop waiting for a bike ride to start. She felt like an immediate friend and so kind. I doubt anyone could say anything negative about her as she was the epitome of selflessness, kindness and joy. She was a great listener and I always looked forward to seeing her. Many hugs to her family and friends. Her spirit is strong and will continue with us.
