Barbara was born on December 19th, 1933 in Corder, Missouri. Barbara graduated in 1951 from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Barbara was a member of the Northland Art League, the senior bowling league of North Kansas City and Job Daughters. Her hobbies included painting, ceramics and teaching art classes to the community. She had a love for animals and music, and enjoyed playing the piano. Her favorite song to play was “Jambalaya on the Bayou”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Smith, her brother William Hilker and her son William D. Gustin.
She is survived by her son Alan Gustin of Kearney, Missouri and her daughter Bethanie Roberts-Walder of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by her step-children Dwayne Smith, David Smith and Cheryl Smith-Schlotzhauer, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Barbara will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 2:00 pm at White Chapel Cemetery 6600 NE Anitoch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119.
