It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Patricia at the age of 80 on June 17, 2020. Born in Port Morien, she was the daughter of the late Hugh McDonald and Annie Mae (Nearing). Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her dearly loved son Boris and her three sisters, Helen; Camille; Joan and her two brothers Fabian and Hugh. Patricia will be greatly missed by her surviving son Michael (Julie Johnson Horrigan) and by daughters Susan (Doug Davis) and Dominika (John Somerton). She loved her four grandchildren Logan, Remlee, Riley and Jenna as well as her two great granddaughters Emily and Sadey. She is also survived by her brother Gus; sister, Audrey; sister, Sue. There are too many nieces and nephews to mention by name but they certainly lit up her life over the years. She had two very special friends who cannot go unmentioned; Pauline Watson and Wanda Warner for they were always there to comfort her and to help her when needed. Patricia will best be remembered for giving it her all. She worried too much, she failed at times and she did not always get it right…but she tried her hardest to teach her children about kindness, love, compassion and honesty. Even if she had to learn it from her own mistakes, she loved her children enough to keep going, even when life knocked her down. She was a woman who always got back up. We would like to thank Northwood homecare workers who provided such essential support in her later years. Mom you will be missed by so many people. Rest in peace.
Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Black Brook at 2pm on Monday June 29, 2020. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.pattenfuneral.com
