Keith passed away peacefully on January 23, 2021 in Glace Bay General Hospital after a brief fight with cancer.
For those who knew Keith , he participated in many fights and this last one he faced with great courage and strength.
Keith grew up in Birch Grove , Cape Breton. He enjoyed many hunting and fishing expeditions with family and friends resulting in many colorful stories.
Keith loved an adventure and leaving home at 17 on a whim to travel to California with friends and $30 in his pocket was only the beginning.
Predeceased by his father, Fraser and brother, Kent who passed away in November from cancer, Keith leaves behind his mother, Lois, brother, Ian, sister, Inger (Marnik), sister in law, Sharon, nephews Brett(Laura) and Alec(Lily), nieces Rebecca(Andrew) and Abbey , fur niece Lily, and many cousins and friends.
As Keith would say, “I lived with no regrets”
And like Frank Sinatra’s song
“The record shows, I took the blows, and did it my way”
We would like to thank the staff of IMCU at Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the staff of 3 West at Glace Bay General for their compassionate care and respect they showed Keith. We would also like to thank Michelle Phinney and Dr. Anne Frances D’Intino of Palliative Care.
Thank you to David, Kerry and Greg for your many visits. Mackie appreciated each and every one. Thanks to our dear friend Janice who made sure Keith had everything he needed and to our friends and family for their unwavering support.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
