Delores Drucella King

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our sister and aunt Delores Drucilla King on February 19, 2024 in Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She was born in Glace Bay on March 6, 1938 to the late William and Hilda (Jacobs) King of Glace Bay.

Delores lived all of her life in Glace Bay. As a registered nurse, she was devoted to her patients and was employed by St Joseph’s hospital in Glace Bay as an instructor for student nursing classes. She also worked at Canadian Tire as an office computer information manager.

Delores liked cars and bought one of the first Ford Mustangs in Cape Breton. She enjoyed touring by car locally, nationally and internationally.

Delores is survived by her last remaining sibling Willena King, niece Heather Bishop in Calgary Alberta, and nephew Darryl MacKenzie in San Diego Califirnia. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Lorraine MacKenzie and Alma King.
