Our family is saddened to share that Calvin W. Dawe, 80, of Port Caledonia, passed away on October 10, 2021, at Glace Bay General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Cal was born on June 6, 1941, in Toronto, Ontario, the only child of the late Olive and Bill Dawe.
As a journeyman marine electrician, he worked in the shipyards of Marystown and St. John’s in Newfoundland, and the trawlers and fish plant of National Sea Products in Louisbourg.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Verna (Stacey), daughter Beverley (Scott), Toronto; son Shane (Chandra), Port Caledonia; grandchildren, Olivia, Bryden (Nathan), Gillian (Bruce); Great-grandchildren, Ava, Baron.
Visitation will be held Thursday October 14, 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Service to be held Friday October 15 at 2:00 pm at Patten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at St. Luke’s United Church Cemetery, Donkin.
