Virginia Guajardo Solis passed away on August 7, 2016 at the age of 82. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home in Georgetown, Texas surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born August 28, 1933 in San Diego, Texas to Esequilo Guajardo Sr. and Maria S. Botello.
Virginia spent the majority of her working years as a nanny. She helped raise three families whom she loved very much and remained in contact with over the years. She also had a green thumb and loved working in the yard growing trees, flowers and vegetables. She always found great joy in spending time with family and friends, making numerous over the years. None more so than her childhood friend and lifelong partner in crime, Francis Cassillas.
Virginia also managed to raise her own family as a single mother. She is survived by her daughters, Janie Vanderpool and Dolores (Dolly) Sanders; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Wascom, Rey Perez, Tara Jackson, Bryan Jackson, Christina Currier, Alora Sanders, and Jerry D. Sanders III: and currently eight great grandchildren, Tyler Wascom, Kaleb Wascom, Joshua Perez, Zachery Perez, Johnny Reyes, Charlette Edelton, Issac Jackson, Lily Jackson.
Virginia and the family would like to send a special heart felt thank you to Aldus Hospice for providing wonderful care to Virginia and support to the whole family during a difficult time. Tiara Carroll, Lisa White, and Jenny Beatty are truly exceptional individuals.
Virginia will be greatly missed. We love you Nana.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Virginia's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with Father Will Straten officiating.
