Prayers for the family. I worked with Nelda at SWBT / SBC for 32 years. She was a special lady and friend.  Nelda was one in a million and I will always remember her.

Nicole, Gregg and family, Nelda was a real hoot to spend time with at the Troy and Levie Cowan home on RR2222 near 620 out near Lake Travis. That was the scene of many get togethers for that family of 12  siblings and all their descendants for various occasions and many meals! I don’t know if y’all were old enough to remember any of those gatherings. A few of us daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughters-in-law helped out in the kitchen with various tasks. But Nelda and I spent quite a few occasions in the kitchen washing dishes and putting away food. Troy (also affectionately known as T.W. or TightWad) would bring in all the plastic knives, forks and spoons from where he’d gathered them up from picnic tables and walk right up to the sink where we were washing and drying dishes and cookware and reach right in between us and chunk them in the dishwater, and tell us to be sure they got good and clean, not waiting for any response from anyone. The second he walked out the back door and back into the yard, Nelda would gather everything he’d just thrown in the dishwater and chunk them in the trash, saying to me and anyone else who might have been in the kitchen with us “We are NOT WASHING PLASTIC UTENSILS, I DON’T CARE WHAT TIGHTWAD THINKS! Someone or multiple people will buy plenty more of them for the next gathering!!”  That scene was repeated many times over through the years! She was not afraid to throw them out, and I never heard of him asking Levie where the clean plastic utensils were put that he had gathered up.  I think that was a little game they loved to play!!🤣😂

Although I haven’t seen Nelda in several years, she has always held a special place in my life and my heart.   Her smile was contagious and her love  of life, family, and friends was a joy to behold!!!  I have many fond memories with her and the family that I’ll cherish forever.  McBride & the Ride concert road trips, dancing, drinking beer, and just having fun, to name a few. 

My love and prayers are with the Cowan/Mueth family. 💜

I've never met a more gregarious person.  What a joy to be around!  She made the rides to and from school on the bus a lot more fun!

As for memories, about 15 years ago my family and I were staying at the Hill Country Resort in Canyon Lake.  (Some of you know where this is going.)  We were hanging out at the pool and I was hearing a voice in the distance that  I KNEW I recognized but couldn't quite place.  I wandered around until I homed in on it and lo and behold it was Nelda and Nicole in the pool as well but opposite ends!  Had a great time catching up and drinking a beer or  two.  (I, at least, probably drank a couple.  She may have had something fancier!)

Nicole, Gregg and family.  To say your mom was one of the happiest, outgoing, fun loving and giving people I ever had the pleasure to meet would be an understatement.  That was evident every single time I was around her and Uncle Jimmy.  Anyone who could get that man to put on loafers and smile and laugh had a true gift.  She did that for so many.  She always brought laughter and joy to anyone around her.  She will be missed by so many and I pray that all of the memories you have will comfort you every day with a smile until we all meet again.
