Marge was born on July 21, 1922, a daughter of the late James Lawrence and Lula Viola Rich.
She graduated from E. Fairmont, W. Virginia High School in 1940. Shortly thereafter Marge and her brother Noel along with their friends, Dale Holmes and his sister Vivian, made a trip to Galveston, Texas. While there Noel and Vivian, along with Marge and Dale, fell in love and were wed in a double ceremony. Years later, Marge and Dale moved to Liberty Hill, Texas where they owned and together operated Holmes Feed Store. They worked beside each other for more than 40 years. Marge was a longtime member of Union Hall Baptist Church in Liberty Hill Texas. She was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.
Marge was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Dale C. Holmes in 1987; her second husband Mike Harrell, brothers; Carl David Rich, Arthur Noel Rich, and Sister June Juanita Curtis.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving brother; Lawrence (Bud) Rich; four children and their spouses: Tex Dale (Butch) and Joyce Holmes, James R. (Jim) and Nancy Holmes, William Noel (Bill) and Annie Holmes, and Vickie and Jack Johnson. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was a bright twinkling light to all she encountered and we will all miss her lighthearted humor, as well as her kind loving spirit.
