Margaret graduated from Florence High School and completed business school training at Fort Hood.
Margaret and Ed Rose were married on July 3, 1946. They lived in Florence most of their 68 years of marriage. He called her “Margie”.
Margaret retired from the personnel office at Fort Hood where she had worked for many years. She enjoyed the personal interaction in her job and loved her co-workers.
Margaret cherished her family above all else. She was abundantly generous with her love, support, and gifts. She rarely missed any of the sporting events, birthdays, or any other activities her children, grandchildren or great grandchildren were involved in. She was so very proud of all their accomplishments. She was known to them and most of their friends as “Ki-Ki”.
Margaret and Ed loved to travel in their motor home. They always took along kids or grandkids with them. Her favorite place to go was Red River, New Mexico.
Dancing was her passion. She was a very active person all throughout her life. Her body may have aged but her mind, spirit and love of living did not. She loved to play cards, especially a family card game called Pitch.
She is pre-deceased by her parents, Alma and Walton (Slim) Morgan and her husband, Ed Rose.
She is survived by her three daughters: Patricia Lyles of Cedar Park, Suzanne and husband Ronnie Grimm of Florence and Dina Rose of Georgetown.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Renee McQuillan of Cedar Park, Travis Lyles of Cedar Park, Rusty and wife Jennifer Grimm of Lorena, Clynt and wife Mary Grimm of Bastrop, Darin Grimm and Tatum Bass of Jarrell, Amanda Smith of Houston and Jake Johnson of Richardson.
Also surviving her are 7 great-grandsons: Zach Grimm, Zane Grimm, Aric Grimm, Trevor Grimm, Peyton Grimm, Jaxon Grimm and Liam Smith; three great-granddaughters: Shae McQuillan, Raegan McQuillan and Audrey Smith; three step-grandchildren: Laramie, Trinity and Jackson Millsap.
