Linda was born on February 26, 1946 in Morgantown, West Virginia and a 1964 graduate from Valley High School, West Virginia. Linda earned her bachelor’s degree in 1993 from St. Edward’s University, Austin, Texas. She retired February 3, 2018 after 43 years of service with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin, Texas, as an Information Technology Specialist.
Linda enjoyed traveling, friends, laughter and her cats. Linda was a generous soul and delighted in sharing her country home as a healing retreat center. Her generosity also extended to caring for newborn kittens as a volunteer for Shadow Cats, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of abused, abandoned, and injured cats. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone or any animal in need.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Ray Chidester(father) and Cora Hazel Chidester (mother) and three brothers, Gerald E. Chidester, Donald R. Chidester and Cecil E. Chidester all of West Virginia.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly L. McWilliams of Delaware; and three granddaughters, Erica L. McWilliams, Lauren N. McWilliams and Danielle M. McWilliams of Maryland. Her loving presence will be missed by family, friends, and co-workers.
The family of Linda would like to thank long- time friend Wyatt Neil for his support during her Illness.
Linda was a member of Unity Church of Georgetown.
A Celebration of Linda's Life will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
