Julia was born in Bochum, Germany to Johanna and Richard Kasperek. When she was two years old they sailed from Hamburg, Germany on the SS New York and arrived on April 1, 1927 through Ellis Island to become citizens of the United States.
Julia attended Pasadena High School where she met her husband of 58 years Lonnie Lee Gore. They were members of St. Pius V. Catholic Church where they raised their three children. Julia lived in New Braunfels for 30 years, where she was employed at Lacks Furniture Store. She loved her home on the Guadalupe River where her kids and grandchildren visited often.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Georgetown, Texas and was a volunteer at St. David’s Hospital.
Julia is survived by her son, Richard Gore of Georgetown, Texas; daughters, Pam Ohm and husband Steve of Pasadena, Texas and Cindy Howard of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Denise Maier, Cammie French, Brandi Crawley, Kelly Ohm, Stevi Croft, Riley Suffel and Curtis Howard; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 20, 2018 in the chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at San Marcos Cemetery in San Marcos, Texas.
