Gordon Slater Pate

Boo, as he was known by all of his friends, was a US Army Veteran, proudly serving his country during World War II.

After his service with the Army, he worked for the Georgetown Independent School District as Maintenance Superintendent.

He was an active member of the Georgetown V.F.W. for many years and enjoyed hunting and playing dominoes with friends and family.

He is survived by one Brother Paul Pate of Sherman, Texas; Son Richard Pate of Tipton, Iowa; Daughter Patricia Johnson of Jarrell, Texas; Son Robert (Buster) Pate of Georgetown, Texas; Son Charles Pate of Jarrell, Texas and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Boo is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ethel Pate and several brothers and sisters and his wife of 67 years, Billie June Pate and a daughter Diana McVay of Iowa.

A visitation for Gordon will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at IOOF Cemetery, 1117 E 7th St, Georgetown, TX 78626.
