George Russell Williams, 75, of Georgetown, TX sadly left us to join his heavenly Father. A native Austinite, George was born in the old Brackenridge Hospital on February 15, 1949 in Austin, Texas to Pat Williams and Minnie Lee Pruett-Williams. George passed away at home after a valiant battle with lung cancer on October 9th. George retired from the Army after serving 23 years, including a tour of Vietnam as a diesel mechanic and repairing tanks recovered from the battlefield, a career he was very proud of and dearly loved.
George is survived by his loving wife Patsy (Patti) Teague-Williams, brother Jesse Williams and wife Sunny of Pflugerville, and many grandkids, nephews and nieces that he loved dearly.
George was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Mitchell, Shirley Skinner, Delores Packebush, Patsy Taylor, and Mary Louise Simons, and by his brother Billy Williams.
Services were arranged by Cook-Walden Davis Funeral home located in Georgetown at 2900 Williams Drive. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 18. Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 AM at Fiskville Cemetery located at 8900 Fiskville Cemetery Road in Austin off Rundberg Lane between IH-35 and Dessau Road.
