Ed Rose was passionate about 3 things…his church, his family, and his ranch.
He was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church for more than 60 years where he served in many different leadership positions. Ed was a World War II veteran and retired after an illustrious career in Civil Service at Ft. Hood.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret…Margie, as he called her…his 3 daughters, Patricia Lyles, Suzanne Grimm, and Dina Rose, five grandsons, 2 granddaughters, six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
His family members include his son-in-law, Ronnie Grimm and his and Suzanne’s three sons: Rusty Grimm and wife, Jennifer, and their sons Zach and Zane; Clynt Grimm and his wife, Mary, and their son, Peyton; Darin Grimm and his wife, Sarah, and their three sons Aric, Trevor, and Jaxon; daughter, Mandy Smith and her husband, Matt. Ed’s family also includes Dina Rose’s son, Jake Johnson, and Patricia Lyles’, son, Travis Lyles; daughter Renee McQuillan and husband, Shaun, and daughter Shae, with a baby girl on the way in October.
Ed spent many hours raising cattle, sheep and goats on his ranch in Florence, which he always called his ‘little piece of Heaven.’
Visitation will be at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Thursday, August 14, from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am in Florence at the Florence United Methodist Church.
