William Kenneth Lovelace Sr.

William Kenneth “Ken” Lovelace, Sr., age 74, of Gastonia, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Kings Mountain and was the son of the late Jonas O. Lovelace and Elizabeth Ledford Lovelace Griffie.

Mr. Lovelace was a veteran of the U. S. Army, graduate of Durham Barber School, Durham and retired after 35 years of service from Sisk Barber Shop. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mr. Lovelace is survived by his wife, Peggy Grindle Lovelace; one son, William Kenneth “Bill” Lovelace, Jr. and wife Chrystal of Gastonia; one sister, Juanita Blanton and husband Don of Chesnee, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Joscelyn Lovelace and Jason Lovelace of Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, 3001 S. York Road, Gastonia, with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 P. M. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating.

Interment will be private and at a later date.

Mr. Lovelace was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Lovelace, Robert Lovelace; one sister, Kathleen Patterson.
