Wayne Michael Chambers, 40, of Hickory passed away Tuesday November 5, 2019 from a long standing illness. Wayne fought hard against his illness, but he never let it hamper his ability to live his life the way he wanted to. Wayne was a proud Tar Heel consistently cheering for the University of North Carolina. Wayne graduated from Hunter Huss High School in Gastonia. He was intelligent and he loved to read. He seemed to know a little about everything. Wayne was big hearted, always willing to give of himself and he would freely give to anyone. Wayne had many friend and he touched many lives. He had a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Wayne was born in Maryland, but North Carolina was his home. He is the son of Inga Barnard (Rick Bournique) and Ronald Chambers, Sr. (Kathy).
Grieving the loss of their father are his daughters; Leah and Madelyn Chambers. He leaves behind his Fiancée Staci Bryant, sister Carrie and Jarrod Conner and brother Ron Chambers, Jr. (Christy Smith).
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday November 10, 2019 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. Reverend Jason Wilson will officiate the service and offer words of encouragement and hope to those that gather to remember Wayne. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 1:00 PM, at Carothers Funeral Home.
Wayne loved animals and the family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Wayne’s name to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 2334, Gastonia, NC 28054.
