Teresa considered endless possibilities, and persevered throughout her life. She loved life and applauded the accomplishments of all three of her children. Teresa loved each daughter dearly, and they knew they were loved by their mother. “Terry’s” grandchildren, Emma Jordan Beam, Michael Vance Beam, Micah Douglas Beam, Annabelle Mae Matocha, and Amelia Bess Matocha knew “Grammy” loved them very much.
She reminded others of God’s love for them as she read Scripture and spoke with them about the plan of Salvation. Teresa’s family would say she lived a life of success and cherished time with people. A few of Teresa’s hobbies were sewing, reading, and collecting gemstones. She also enjoyed spending time enjoying the simple pleasures of life as opportunities arose.
Teresa earned degrees from Gaston College, Gardner-Webb University and Gordon-Conwell Seminary. At the beginning of her career life, Teresa worked for the FBI. Later, she worked for the Agriculture Center in Dallas, NC. During most of her career, she retired from Gaston College in Dallas, NC. She enjoyed counseling students and young adults. Later, she became the Chief GED Examiner at the college. In 2003, Teresa graduated from Gordon-Conwell Seminary with a dream to one day open her own private practice in Christian counseling. She wanted others to trust in Christ and believe in God’s Word and the power of prayer.
