Stephen Michael Stroud

Mr. Stroud was a World Class Backgammon Player. He was also a Golden Gloves Fly Weight Boxing champion in the southeastern region of NC from 1960-1962 as well as a Champion Roller Hockey Player in Gaston County in the late 1950’s.

He enjoyed entertaining family and friends; he was also an avid sports spectator, specializing in statistical analysis, and was a fine quality smoking aficionado.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Todd Stroud.

Surviving are his sons, Randy Stroud of Alexis, NC and Joshua Stroud of Gastonia; daughter Rhonda Canipe and husband, Daniel Canipe of Lincolnton; brother, Bobby Stroud of Mt. Holly and grandchildren, Jeremy, Chasity, J.T., Robbie, Rachel, Trevor, and Auren Stroud; great grandchildren, Xavier and Justin Hood; Elijah, Todd and Zakkary Stroud.

A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held at Michael’s home on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 5-9 pm.
