Roberta "Genee" Owen

Though, we are broken hearted for the loss of our Mother, our tears turn to joy knowing this has been a long awaited reunion for our Mom and Dad. Knowing they are together with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, brings comfort and peace that they may now rest forever in his eternal love and presence.

In addition to her infant daughter Rivera Owen, she was welcomed in heaven by her parents William Edward Miles and Grace Buchanan Miles, brothers Bo, Melvin, and Ronnie Miles, her sisters Oleeta Detter and Doris Maltba, she is survived by brother, Charlie Miles, and sisters Patricia Clewis and Carol Crane.

Surviving family include son, Dale Owen and wife Cindy, (children Kelly Owen and wife Connie, Amanda Rogers and husband Chris), son the late Darrell Owen (child LaKeesha Balawender and husband Mike), daughter Risë Owen and fiancé Larry Smith (children Trey Bolch and Celisa Walters). Great grandchildren Kayla, Gracie, Emily, Sammie, Rebecca, Bud, Alora, Liam, Destiny Smith, Kaleb McDaniel, Emma-Leigh, Rory, Letty, Mia, and great great grandson Maxton.

The Owen family will receive friends and family from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM on Saturday, the 7th of December, 2024 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM in Cardinal Hall of Carothers Funeral Home and burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
