Robert Michael Houghton

Robert “Mick” Michael Houghton, age 57, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday night, December 8, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Robert was born on September 12, 1958 to Robert and Renate Houghton. He was the oldest of 4 children. He graduated from Butler High School in Huntsville, AL. Robert retired from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of service. He met his bride in Kornwestheim, Germany and they married there in 1980.

Robert worked for FAIST Chem Tech for 16 years. He was an active RC enthusiast and hobbyist and enjoyed the great outdoors.

Robert is survived by his wife, Andrea; daughters, Daniela, Jennifer with husband Thomas Corbett, and Michelle; parents, Robert and Renate Houghton; brothers, Rich with wife Lynn, Ron, and Randy with wife Doretta; and his faithful canine companion, Mabel.

Committal service with full military honors will be delivered at 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina.

All those who knew Robert are welcomed by family to attend services.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
