Mary "Missy" Helms, age 52, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday ~ January 7, 2019 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, North Carolina. Missy will always be known as a great mother, wonderful grandmother, humble woman who found joy taking care of others' needs and wants. She was a very intelligent lady who would light up a room when she entered. A woman of Faith and Strength, she cast her Trust in the Lord. Missy worked in the tire industry for over 20 years, most recently serving as the Branch Manager of Snider Fleet Solutions Gastonia and employed by them for 7 years. She is going to leave a Huge void in her family and friend's life.
Those left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are her daughter, son in law and grandsons: Lauren and William Stitt , DeDe, Tonio, Chase and Andre of Gastonia, North Carolina; three sons: Charles Helms II, Justin Helms and Dylan Helms all of Gastonia, North Carolina; step mother: Donna Joyner and husband Roy of Oak Island, North Carolina; sister: Amy Broome of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers: Jimmy Caswell and Michael Valk of Florida; Husband: Mark Couch of Charlotte, North Carolina; Best and Closest Friend: Nicky Taylor of Gastonia, North Carolina.
Missy was the daughter of the late David Valk and Betty Jean Caswell.
A Life Well Cerebrated Memorial Ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday ~ January 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina with Chaplain Dan sharing Happy Moments, Comfort, Joy and Hope to Missy's family and friends.
The family will receive guests from 5:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM prior to the Memorial Service. Afterwards, there will be a gathering of guests from 7:00 PM ~ 9:00 PM in the catering and event room at Carothers Funeral Home.
