Melody welcomed a Yankee family the Wedingers from New Jersey in 1987 who landed at the end of Eppinette Court.  Our daughter Katie and Alex were about 15 months old and became friends.  Our son Rob was born Feb. 1988.  Great memories of the Easter Egg hunt in the Morris yard that year!  So many other great memories of friends and playing Bridge! Melody chose furniture from Sally Stowes for us that we still have.  She and Alex came to help us Randolph, NJ  3rd move in 5 years. It was so comforting to see familiar faces.  We kept in touch over the years so I know about the beautiful grandchildren.  This is incredibly sad.  She has always lived in my heart and always will.

Remembering the Life of Melody Morris 1951 - 2022

Melody Medford Morris, 70, of Gastonia passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022.

Mrs. Morris was born in Gastonia, NC on July 23, 1951. She was the only child of the late Eugene M. Medford and Evelyn Lineberger Medford.

Melody graduated from Hunter Huss High School in 1969. She had a passion for interior design. She worked and had a long career as a interior home designer for multiple high end retail companies. She was a former member of Gaston Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf, throwing parties for her friends and family, and playing cards as she was a regional master bridge player. More than anything she loved being a mother to her three boys that she loved to brag about to everyone as well as her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Norm Morris of Gastonia, her three sons, Sean Morris (Hope) of Waxhaw, Chad Morris (Tanya) of Lilburn, GA , Alex Morris (Casey) of Belmont. Her five grandchildren Sean Morris Jr., Grace Morris, Sydney Morris, Alyson Morris, and Alexander Morris Jr. "AJ". And will be missed by her emotional support dog, Sophie.

Receiving of friends will be held Thursday May, 19 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Carothers Funeral Home at Gastonia Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054, followed by a celebration of life service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
