Joyce Mae Stroupe Foster

Joyce McManus Stroupe Foster, 87, died March 12, 2014 at her home. She was born August 26, 1926 to the late Julius and Myrtle (Lane) McManus. Joyce was retired from Pharr Yarns and was formerly a licensed cosmetologist operating her own beauty salon. She was a member of McAdenville United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Club.

Mrs. Foster is survived by her children, Gail Stroupe Hoffman (Sid), Doris Stoupe Scott (Sam), Lee Foster (Leslie); sister, Mary Ann Berryhill; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Her Life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia with Rev. Sidney Epperson officiating.

A private burial will follow.

Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her first husband, Winford L. Stroupe; second husband, Carl L. Foster; son, Wayne Stroupe; step-daughter, Dianna Foster.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Gaston Hospice, P. O. Box 3984, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054.
